Da Vinci Debacle

NOOOOOO!!!!!

It was there at lunchtime! Now it's gone! It belonged to yesterday's posts!

I DON'T HAVE BACKUP!!!!

I HATE TECHNOLOGY!!!!

*********

Don't go see the Da Vinci Code. It's all a lie. Even the stuff Dan Brown says it true is a lie.

Here are the Art World lies: From Fred Sanders at Middlebrow.

Here are the Theological lies: From D. James Kennedy, Ph.D., and Jerry Newcombe in WorldNetDaily.

I've seen almost everything Audrey Tautou has done (only that face could cause me to read sub titles) but I won't be seeing this movie.

According to scripture: it would have been better if a millstone had been tied around Dan Brown's neck and he had been tossed into the sea... than for him to have written his book.

Chris,

I don't believe I've seen Audrey Tautou. Would I want to see any of her other movies?

The subtitles wouldn't bother me, because my kids got me hooked on them years ago. We buy DVDs in Widescreen then set the subtitles on, and the subtitles stay down in the black bar at the bottom, and then when people in the movie mumble, you still know what they're saying. It's only annoying when the subtitles are wrong (like in the Pride & Prejudice rain proposal scene when Elizabeth is upset about Darcy's having split up Jane and Mr. Bingley. She says Bingley is exposed to the "censure" of the world, but the subtitles say, "center," which doesn't make any sense at all. I usually turn off the subtitles right before that scene then turn them back on after it).

Oops. Tangent. Sorry.

I liked "Amelie" the best. But I also liked "À la folie... pas du tout" aka "He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not."

The first is a basic chick flick and the second is a mystery with a twist.
