Tattoo Dangers

The AP reported yesterday on a couple of dunderheads wanting to get a tattoo.

Two southern New Mexico men are recovering after accidentally shooting themselves while trying to trace a loaded .357-caliber Magnum as a pattern for a tattoo.

The Otero County Sheriff's Department identified the men as Robert Glasser and Joey Acosta. Both are 22.

Authorities say Glasser was struck in the hand when the gun accidentally went off. Acosta was hit in the left arm. The injuries were not life-threatening.

There's no mention of demon rum being involved in this incident, so we have to assume these guys simply aren't the brightest bulbs in the pack.

A word to the wise: Remove all bullets before tracing guns for a tattoo.

See, when you really *need* evolution to make the species a little bit smarter, it lets you down.

Gun do not "accidentally" go off. Someone must pull the trigger. That is not an accident, and a .357 revolver will have a substantial trigger pull.

Marvin,

I suspect the gun accidentally went off when they were tracing around the trigger with their pen. That's all I can figure.
