I can't remember what book I found these in. It must have been one of those motivational books. I was going through a pile of papers, and I came across a couple Starbuck's napkins with these quotes written on them.
Golf is a game whose aim is to hit a very small ball into an even smaller hole, with weapons singularly ill designed for that purpose.
--Winston Churchill
On success:
Hit the ball hard. Go find it. Hit it again.
--Arnold Palmer
This one wasn't on a napkin:
Golf is the kind of game where the worse you are, the more practice you get.
--SkyePuppy
Back when I played, I got lots of practice.

It took me a good minute and a half to work out your golf quote. What if you were like me and you just came to the conclusion that you were shitty at golf, and then promptly give up and go for mojitos back at the club house to chat up wealthy magnates?
That's what I would do anyway.
Jacob,
It would have been tough for me to chat up wealthy magnates, since I did all my golfing with my husband. And since we didn't golf where the magnates golfed. We went to the municipal golf course next to the mental hospital, where the patients would come to the fence and say stuff like, "Got a light?" right as we were about to hit the ball. Nothing but the best for us...
